I feel like I am the only person in my family that loveeeees gift wrapping and make my gifts look super pretty and decorative. When it comes to the holidays I can’t wait to get to the wrapping and bedazzling (sometimes) of the gifts I’m giving.
I created this post because I know there are a lot of people who don’t know how to wrap gifts and this post is for you. This blog post is a step by step guide on how to wrap your gifts perfect for the holiday. This is for beginners I even created the bow for the first time this season and it is super easy to make. Below you will find easy steps to wrapping those gifts this season like a pro!
How to begin wrapping a gift:
Step 1:
Start by placing the wrapping paper face down and you will see the lines on the opposite side of the wrapping paper decor. Place the wrapping paper to the end of the gift and place the tape down to secure.
This is the start to making your gift look perfect so make sure that wrapping paper is nice and smooth with no bubbles or creases.
Step 2:
This is where the first cute begins, bring the wrapping paper to the other side of the gift. I prefer to bring it to the very end to make it seamless. (If you would like you can cut the wrapping paper so that it ends in the middle.) Cut a perfect and straight line, lay the wrapping paper down and make sure that it is smooth so that the wrapping paper is perfectly smooth.
Step 3:
This step is important, starting at one end of the gift, you will grab the lower part of the piece of the wrapping paper and fold up. If it is too long and doesn’t fit properly and seamlessly then you will need to cut it. I cut about 2 inches off of the paper and then it was able to fit properly. Tape it down then do the same to the other side and tape it up leaving little tongue like tabs at the end of the paper.
Step 4:
Now this is the easy part and you are almost done with the gift and ready for the bow. All you have to do for the final step is tape down the tongues on each side and waalaaa you are done, with this side. Repeat these steps on the opposite side of the gift and you are done.
The Bow
You can go the traditional route and purchase a nice bow and put it on top of your gift. However, I had extra ribbon and wanted to put it to use. For this process, I just took a piece of ribbon fold it over in two and continue the process until a bow was made. I then completed this step with two other ribbon colors and taped them on top of each other to create the bow for my gift.
There you have it my guide to the perfect gift wrapping this season, are you ready to tackle your gifts after this guide?!
