When Jimmie and I first moved into our apartment I wasn’t too bothered by the brown countertops we had ( I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of them). But as time went on it became more and more aggravating because they were ugly, and they didn’t allow light to bounce off of them, so the kitchen was always dark and gloomy. I started searching on Amazon for options on how I could update the kitchen without damaging the countertops.
I came across these marble adhesives which I installed in may apartment. Now, because it is adhesive you have to cut some pieces of it to get the edge of your counters.
Some of the items you will need to complete this project..
- Marble Adhesive– I used 3 rolls for my kitchen
- Knife – I used this one the I purchased from amazon
- Smoothing tool – you can either purchase a smoother to help with the bubbles that may form when you lay the adhesive or you can used a credit card.
My Kitchen has not looked as inviting as it does now, and this was such a great and cheap upgrade I added to our apartment. Now the next time we move if it is not in a house I will make sure the kitchen is nice and bright! This is the area of the house that we are in the most and it needs to be open and airy for sure. When we first moved in we didn’t think family would come over as much as they actually do. We ended up having everyone over for Christmas and I had to get additional tables just to hold the food because we ran out of counter space.
When you install the adhesive you may need the help of someone else because it sticks very well, so it will not come off unless you intend to pull it off. If you are a renter this would be a great idea for you to change the look of your apartment, or if you are a home owner and just looking for a change that isn’t permanent this would be great for you as well.
